An unsettling note from Ana Walshe, written in vivid red letters only hours before she vanished and looking forward to the new year.
"Wow! 2022...What a year! And yet, we are still here and together! Let's make 2023 the best one yet! We are the authors of our lives...courage, love, perseverance, compassion, and joy. Love, Ana," read the unssetling message on the side of a Lanson Noble Cuvee champagne box.
The champagne is in the dining room of Ana and Brian Walshe's Cohasset residence, which seems to have been largely unattended since the celebration, which also included family friend Gem Mutlu.
"Gem Ana Brian 2023!" reads another message pn the other side of the box.
Previously, Mutlu maintained that everything at the celebration was fine, saying: "We hugged and celebrated and we toasted, just what you do over New Year's."
"There was a lot of looking forward to the New Year. There was no indication of anything other than celebrating the New Year, problems on hold," he told WBZ-TV.
Mutlu claimed he left the party at 1:30 a.m. Brian claims his wife woke him up at around 6 a.m. and told him she had to leave for the airport because of a "work emergency" in Washington, DC. This was the last time he saw her.
Ana Walshe's dissapearance
Police allege Ana did not take a rideshare or board a plane that morning and that her phone was still pinging nearby mobile towers on January 1 and January 2.
Since then, Brian has been detained in jail for deceiving authorities about his locations on the same two days, delaying the search for Ana, who was reported missing on January 4.
According to an affidavit for Brian's arrest, blood and a broken knife were also discovered during a police check of the property. Even still, Ana has not yet been found, and the hunt is still on.
