Billy Idol began his career as a guitarist in a punk rock band in 1976. He left the band soon after, along with one of his bandmates, and formed a new band called “Generation X,” in which he was the lead singer. However, the band disbanded after four years of recording between 1976 and 1980.

From 1982 to 1993, he pursued a solo career, which saw him release a string of commercially successful albums, including “Billy Idol,” “Rebel Yell,” “Whiplash Smile,” “Charmed Life,” and “Cyberpunk.” He has also published several albums, the most recent of which was “Kings & Queens of the Underground” in 2014. Billy won the “MTV Video Music Awards for Best Video” from a Film in 1990 and the “BRIT Award for Best British Video” in 1991 for the video “Cradle of Love.”
