Bobby Portis Jr was born on February 10, 1995, in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. He was raised by his mother Tina Edwards. He went to Hall High School in Little Rock where he played high school basketball. There he earned McDonald’s and Parade All-American status.
Bobby Portis attended college at Arkansas University from 2013 to 2015. There he played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He earned consensus second-team All-American honours as a sophomore in 2015.
