Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines will debut their new Magnolia cable network on October 4th. The news was announced earlier this week by Discovery CEO David Zaslav at the Television Critics Association meeting.
Zaslav said that Chip and Joanna have become trusted household names since their home renovation show Fixer Upper debuted on HGTV, and Discovery is proud to extend their relationship with the couple. He added that the Gaines’ have authenticity and relatability, which is something special and difficult to find in the TV business.

According to Page Six, the new cable network is a joint venture with the Discovery network, and there are already a dozen shows in production. Allison Page, the president of the Discovery network, said that Chip and Joanna will appear in multiple shows on Magnolia, including a cooking show featuring a solo Joanna, and another with both Chip and Joanna together.
The network is named after the couple’s multi-platform media company, Magnolia, and it will feature “unique, inspiring, and family-friendly” programming that focuses on everything the Gaines’ are known for – home improvement, interior design, garden, food, and wellness.
There will also be programming focused on topics like entrepreneurship and community. And, of course, it will also be the place that fans can watch episodes of Fixer Upper.
“Our intention with this network is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages, and helps to build bridges across our communities. We want honest, authentic programming that brings families together,” Chip and Joanna said in a joint statement last April.

There will also be new show titled Home on the Road, which will feature Abner and Amanda Ramirez from the band Johnnyswim. This reality show will give fans the opportunity to see two professional, touring musicians attempt to balance their music careers with their family life, while also keeping their marriage healthy and strong.
In addition to their new network, Chip and Joanna Gaines are currently renovating a three-story office building in their hometown of Waco, Texas. Located just a few blocks from their famous Magnolia Market at the Silos, this office building will soon be a boutique hotel.

The new Magnolia network will replace Discovery’s DIY channel and will be available via local cable providers. For fans who have already cut the cord, they will be able to find the network on Sling TV, Philo, and FuboTV.
