Gillian Anderson took home a SAG last night for her work in The Crown of course. Her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher was polarizing but I loved it. In one of the “at home” segments the SAGs played, Common said that Gillian made him feel sorry for Thatcher, which is true! She did that for me too. Gillian was in this crimson strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress, which is a very safe and classic red carpet look. It’s lovely despite the design house. It looks like something we would see on Kate Winslet. You can see Gillian’s acceptance speech here. I wonder if everything is ok with her and Peter Morgan now.

Amy Adams was also in a staid dress, in a black mock turtleneck one sleeve Celine. I was thinking Amy was nominated for an Oscar this year, but she’s not for once. I want Amy to get an Oscar, but not for a movie like Hillbilly Elegy. The same goes for Glenn Close.

Here’s Glenn Close rocking a red Oscar de la Renta that looks super comfortable. It also looks like it would make her trip if she wore it on a traditional red carpet. I love that her dog is in the background of this shot! I wonder how many takes that took, but maybe he’s the type of dog who always follows her around. Those dogs are the sweetest but their neediness can be too much.

Youn Yuh-Jung won in Glenn’s category, best supporting actress, for her work in Minari. Her acceptance speech was so sweet! I like how everyone told her that her English was good and put their thumbs up.

Jurnee Smollet worked a bright pink Zuhair Murad gown with a mullet balloon skirt. I love how over the top this gown is.

Kerry Washington was in an Etro gown with circular sequins and a matching cap. The cap is so unique and she even got in the pool! She’s ruining this amazing gown, which must have taken hundreds of man hours, but she’s also emphasizing the old school Hollywood look. This is reminiscent of the synchronized swim looks in classic movies. There’s a video at the end of this slideshow where she fully jumps in the pool.
