They will celebrate 70 long years of marriage less than a week after the New Year, but that doesn’t mean George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara Bush don’t know how to keep the romance alive in their long marriage. G.H.W, 90, and Barbara, 89, were put on the spot at a recent Houston Texans game. The two were in the stands watching the Texans play the Cincinnati Bengals (for the record, the Texans did not bring home the win during this particular game) when the famous Kiss Cam caught the two in action.
Whoever said that the honeymoon stage ends after a few years of marriage obviously never spent 70 years married to the same woman, because when the former president kissed his wife, he certainly looked as if he was enjoying every second of it. He wasn’t the only one enjoying the moment; Barbara Bush didn’t look as if she minded the moment too much either, and the people in the stadium went crazy when they realized that the cute couple on the Kiss Cam was the former President and First Lady, and it didn’t matter which way they voted in that particular election.
The former president and his wife are not the first couple in the Bush family caught by the kiss cam at a Texans game, either. Approximately one year ago when the Texans were playing the Oakland Raiders, George W. Bush (the son) and his wife, Laura Bush, were also caught on camera in their box where the two shared a smiley kiss for the rest of the crowd to enjoy. Republican or not, politically inclined or not, there’s no denying the fact that the Bush family certainly knows how to keep marriages thriving over the course of many decades, and good for them in a world where most people will never see what it looks like to be married 70 years.
