Chicago’s founding member and saxophonist Walter Parazaider (born March 14, 1945) is best known for his work as a founding member and saxophonist for the band Chicago. In addition to playing the flute, he also plays other woodwind instruments in the band, such as the clarinet. At the age of nine, Parazaider started studying the clarinet with his father, who lives in Chicago, Illinois. As a youngster, his developing skill was being nurtured for a future as a professional orchestral musician, and he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in classical clarinet playing from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
