Before her appointment at the CDC, Rochelle worked as the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and as a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. She had been on the faculty of Harvard Medical School since 2001, first as an instructor, and later as a professor. Rochelle also worked as a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School from 2012 through 2020 and worked as chief of the division of infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2017 through 2020. Rochelle conducted research on vaccine delivery and strategies to reach underserved communities.
